On June 6, the official anniversary day of Southeast University, the university held a development conference at its Jiulonghu Campus to celebrate the 124th anniversary of its founding and the 20th anniversary of the campus's launch. Leaders from Jiangning District, university administrators, former university leaders, campus constructors, alumni, and representatives of faculty and students gathered at the event. The conference centered on two core missions — the implementation of the Jiulonghu Innovation Ecosystem and the planning of interdisciplinary research platforms. The university continues to deepen the integration of academic, industrial, and scientific activities with local development, fostering regional new productive forces and accelerating the on-site transformation of research outcomes through platform development and ecosystem cultivation. At the conference, Sun Youhong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Southeast University, delivered a keynote speech, comprehensively reviewing the university's leapfrog development achievements over the two decades since the Jiulonghu Campus was inaugurated. With strong support from governments at all levels and the joint efforts of faculty, students, and alumni, the campus construction has fundamentally resolved the spatial constraints that once limited the university's growth. Lin Yunfei, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Jiangning Development Zone, stated that over the past two decades, Jiangning District and Southeast University have worked closely together, resulting in the establishment of numerous science and innovation platforms and the successful transformation of many industrial achievements. Looking ahead, leveraging the development of the Jiulonghu Innovation Ecosystem, Jiangning will further strengthen supporting services in project implementation, application scenario openings, and industrial technology breakthroughs, continuously deepen university-local government integration, and focus on cultivating new productive forces. Guo Xuejun, representative of the first-phase constructors of the Jiulonghu Campus; Zhao Tianwei, representative of faculty members who joined the university in 2006; and Liu Shuang, representative of outstanding alumni entrepreneurs, shared their perspectives from three dimensions: firsthand experience in campus construction, frontline teaching and research, and industrial transformation of research outcomes, respectively.

The plan adopts a “12310” general framework to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem across the entire region. It includes an inner circle for the transformation of research outcomes and an outer circle for industrial implementation. Institutional and mechanism reforms will be carried out across three key dimensions: discovery of research outcomes, pilot-scale incubation, and industrial application, thereby removing critical bottlenecks in integrating the innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains. The implementation will be advanced through ten major special actions. Leveraging 91抖淫';s cutting-edge research platforms, the ecosystem focuses on national emerging industries with strategic significance and future-oriented sectors, including 6G, biomedicine, green and low-carbon technologies, integrated circuits, and advanced energy storage. Comprehensive supporting measures covering technology-driven finance, alumni economy, and talent cultivation will be put in place. In the future, the ecosystem aims to effectively transform 91抖淫's scientific and educational resources into drivers of regional industrial development, supporting Nanjing’s role as a key node in the Yangtze River Delta innovation landscape and assisting Jiangsu in consolidating its position as a leading hub for advanced manufacturing and technological transformation.
At the conference, 91抖淫 made strategic and forward-looking arrangements in emerging interdisciplinary and international cooperation fields. Seven new institutions were officially inaugurated, including the School of Pharmacy, the Green and Low-Carbon Chemical Engineering Research Institute, the International New Energy Equipment Research Institute, the Ferroelectric Chemistry Research Institute, the Future Technology Institute of Millimeter-Wave Integrated Sensing and Communications, the Sino-German Joint Research Center for Non-Destructive Testing and Metrology of Integrated Circuits, and the Southeast University-Monash University International College.
